Overview

Our junior language programme at Loyola University & Great Lakes is designed for 13 – 18 year old students and offers 10 nights in Chicago with an adapted English course and a full excursion programme to key attractions. The final three nights include a fantastic tour by private bus to explore the most beautiful natural wonders and the greatest influential historical sites of the Great Lakes including Lake Superior, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Tuition

  • 15 hours language tuition per week delivered by qualified native speaker teachers
  • English level assessment online before arrival
  • Small class sizes with a maximum of 15 students
  • Course book & materials including end of course report & certificate

Excursions

  • Ventra Cards for the length of the stay which allows for travel to all areas of Chicago
  • Daily evening excursions to Chicago supervised by an activity leader to: Art Institute of Chicago, Shoreline Sightseeing Architecture River Tour, Skydeck Chicago, 360 CHICAGO Observation Deck and Shedd Aquarium
  • 4 days/3 nights trip to the Great Lakes by private bus
  • Activity leader for every day of the tour and English speaking guide at each destination
  • Entrance to the Harley-Davidson Museum, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island Ferry and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

Accommodation

  • Breakfast and lunch in modern cafeteria offering a range of healthy meal options. *First 10 nights only

  • Accommodation in quadruple bedrooms with ensuite bathroom for students

  • Breakfast in hotel. *Please note that lunch and dinner are not included in the tour
  • ZUMA Education support and welfare from arrival to departure

Booking Deposit

All bookings submitted before the 14th March 2025 will be reserved until this date. 15% deposit of the total agreed course fees must be paid to secure a booking. Any bookings made after the 14th March 2025 will only be confirmed by ZUMA Education on receipt of a 15% deposit of the total agreed course fees. Any bookings made after the 16th May 2025 will only be confirmed by ZUMA Education on receipt of a 50% deposit of the total agreed course fees. If the booking is made within 21 days before the programme start date full course fees are required at the time of booking.

Payment Terms

50% of total agreed course fees must be paid by 16th May. The full agreed course fees must be paid at least 21 days before the course start date. All card payments are subject to a handling fee and a 2% or 4% (American Express) fee levied by the card company. These fees are non-refundable. It is the agent’s responsibility to cover all bank charges and exchange rate differences for the whole transaction. If full payment of course fees in cleared funds is not received before the start date the group will not be allowed to start their programme.

Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in the course fees. ZUMA Education recommends that students travelling to USA obtain full travel and medical insurance to ensure their safety and welfare.

Visa Info

It is the agent’s responsibility to apply for and ensure the students are granted the appropriate visa for their period of study with ZUMA Education.
